♥ Land of the Kias(_)s.
It took some time but at least it's here now! Went to Lion City the second time in less than a month (wow!). There used to be times when I don't go there for years at a stretch. And this time around it was easier because I've got used to the public transportation the first time I was there at Christmas. But much less shopping to be honest.
Our (note to all readers, we and our now will always mean Sam and Shann, the S&S) initial plan was to surprise Istee who flew 13 hours from UK just to watch Jay Chou for less than 4 hours and fly back the 13 hours. Now that's what I call fanatic. You know what else rhymes with that word? Lunatic. And to a certain extend we did manage to surprised her la.
And did I mention we took the NICE bus there? NICE ++ to be exact. Effing ex though. Yes the bus company is called NICE. Equipped with Wi-Fi and plug points. Food and drinks from Delifrance. Incline- able chairs. And individual TV sets with 4 channels to choose from.
Well we arrived late on Friday night. After surprising Is and a bit of chit chat, we slept. Had to wake up early because Is's flight is at noon and we're supposed to have brunch before she leaves. So up we got at 8-ish and Is takes a trimillion years to shower so we were delayed la. But we left for Changi Airport to the newest Terminal which only opened on 9th of Jan 2008. Coolness. Of course Is couldn't decide on what to eat but we ended up at Crystal Jade.
After saying goodbye and watching Is move from one end of the terminal to another because she is naturally blur, Sam and I left for Sentosa. Cafe Del Mar again. This time it was they're exact one year anniversary. Too many people. Service not so good. Didn't stay long there because the weather was a bit cuckoo also. Instead, shopping at Vivo City! Had Jap for tea.
Headed back to River Valley altho we actually planned to go to Orchard Road at night or Clarke Quay but too tired la. So we bought instant food and went home. Sam showered while I ate and watched Sex In The City with Kington. By the way, Kington's pad is nothing like your usual pad. It's fridge has no instant noodles or eggs but a lot of apples. Then I saw the Nintendo V and the dance mat. I was like. " Can I play? Can I play?" with an enthusiasm of a 5 year old. But first I had to let Kington demo.
I ended up on it for an hour non stop sweating like a paedophile in a playground. Mind you it was 1.30 a.m by the time I was done. I want one now since I'm too lazy to go to a gym or swim. Sam was high on wine by then. Showered and hit the sack.
Morning, again, we went to the Botanical Gardens for breakfast. I had a full English Breakfast and was still tempted to get the waffles but I cannot afford any more ripples on my stomach. The garden is nice unlike a certain national park that I know of. I can just stay there and hang around till it's time for lunch again. But Orchard Road awaits the shopaholics.
Shop. Shop. Broke. Browse. Browse. Lessons on how to pronounce branded goods. We decided to have lunch at Copenhagen's of Takashimaya. Where we acted like 'jakuns' and camwhore-d. The queen would be rolling in her grave watching our behaviour as gentle ladies and man. Then had to rush backand cab it to Dunearn Rd for our NICE bus ride home.
Bid farewell to Kington and Singapore.
